User Generated Content, which is more known as UGC, is the name of the Avatar Shop feature that lets users to publish their own items and sell them. All of them are able to be viewed under the Community Creations category. How to use Roblox UGC?
At first, the feature was announced at RDC 2015, but the confirmation of it was declared at RDC 2019. This one was released on August 15, 2019 to certified users on the platform. Before its official release, Roblox had confirmed that the feature will only allowed to particular users at first, a lot of people had suspected that well-known Roblox content creators in the official Roblox Video Stars Program will have access to it, even though that is not the case.
Furthermore, Roblox has reached out to reveal that they will sometime in the future depend on content created by eligible users rather than prioritizing assets created by the official Roblox account, that is managed by admins to publish items as default.
Every time a certain user publishes an accessory, they are able to input customized descriptions, Robux price, and many more. However, releasing the limited and unique items and making existing items limited is still restricted to Roblox. Even though the representative of Roblox states that they want to move in a direction where creators are able to publish their own limited items in order to sell to the other users, their only problem with the concept is that there are a very minimal amount of eligible creators and in part of fact that all of them have been lacking in limited releases currently.
On December 6, 2017, Roblox revealed that the star creators will be given the ability to request UGC items to be created per tweet of TheMegaPlays. Some of the chosen star creators were given the privilege to request an item early to test the feature. Originally, Roblox catalog managers allow the item of MeganPlay to be created to test the feature, but the item of her was quickly turned into a blank item uploaded by the Roblox account. After that, a copy of the item was later re-uploaded onto the catalog the afternoon that the original was deleted, and is still able to be purchased to this day. The star creators are now only able to request one item to be created.
Currently, there are only 21 popular creators who are able to upload their own creations without request. All of them are selected users, including Aotrou, Beeism, Bethink, Builder_Boy, DieSoft, Erythia, EvilArtist, Jazzyx3, Latchie, maplestick, Myzta, Onigiri_Tsuki, rastamypasta, Reverse_Polarity, Sofloann, Sukimeki, supernob123, tarabyte, TheShipArchitect, WhoToTrus, and Yourius. Aside from those, there are also four selected accounts that were or are used for testing. The first one is clockwork, the second one is hatsoffto2019, the third one is Games and the fourth one is n00b3n. to more more about UGC, do not forget to visit the official website of Roblox as well as the community.
