How to Retexture on Roblox

The term “re-texture” or re-skin is used to call the mesh texture that has been altered by the user and reapplied to the mesh. Apparently, re-texturing alters the surface of the mesh but not its shape, due to the fact that it is the same mesh, but the different texture. According to Wiki, re-texturing is no longer supported by the administrators of Roblox.

The first thing that you have to do is to open the Roblox Studio in your Start Menu. Then, open the blank page. Please make sure that you have the Command Bar open. When you see the image of the hat or the gear, right click and save it as the picture. You are able to edit it in whatever photo editor you use. If you are not familiar and are looking for the recommendation, paint.NET is the good one. Afterward, make the decal of the texture. In your Roblox game, put the decal on the brick. Then, look at the decal in the Workspace and copy the Texture ID (the whole thing). In the last step, you have to paste the TextureID link into the TextureID of the mesh.

A lot of Roblox users often criticize re-textures when they are used as Roblox hats because the community wants Roblox to make the new hats with the different meshes. Unless one of the Roblox staff takes interest in re-texture and officially publishes it, the thing called re-texture will be only for the game or model. Even if you are not able to take the sleek looking futuristic crossbow into the other places, this one still looks cool its own. However, today, Roblox has discontinued publishing user made re-textures that causes the re-texturing community to fade away. Now, it is extremely unlikely that Roblox staff member will publish your re-texture.
